KyaKhana ("we", "our", "the app") is an AI-powered daily meal planning app for Indian households, available at kyakhana.in and on Android. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
- Account details: your mobile number (used to sign in with a one-time password), and if you choose Google Sign-In, your name and email address from your Google account.
- Profile and preferences: your name, family size, food preference (vegetarian / non-vegetarian / eggetarian), preferred language, region and cooking preferences you enter.
- App activity: meal suggestions shown to you, your weekly meal plans, favourite dishes, grocery lists, fridge-mode ingredient searches, and messages you send to ChefBhai (our AI assistant).
- Device information: basic technical data such as app version and error logs needed to keep the service running.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, or payment information.
2. How we use your information
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To generate personalised meal suggestions, plans, recipes and grocery lists.
- To answer your questions to ChefBhai.
- To send meal reminders on your device (if you enable notifications).
- To maintain, debug and improve the app.
3. Service providers who process data for us
- Google Firebase — authentication and account management.
- WhatsApp / messaging provider — delivers your one-time password to your mobile number.
- AI providers (such as Anthropic, Google Gemini or Groq) — your food preferences and ChefBhai messages are sent to generate replies. We do not send your phone number or name for this purpose.
- Cloudinary — hosts dish images (contains no personal data).
- Our hosting servers — store your account and app data.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not show third-party advertising.
4. Notifications
Meal reminders are scheduled locally on your phone. You can turn them off anytime in Settings or in your phone's system settings.
5. Data retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app (Settings → Delete Account) or at kyakhana.in/delete-account. Deletion is permanent.
6. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access to our servers is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
7. Children
KyaKhana is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
8. Your rights
You may access, correct or delete your information, or withdraw consent, by using the app settings or contacting us.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page with the updated date.
